Job Description
Location:
Jakarta
Reporting to:
CPO / CEO
Role Summary
As a Product Manager at AYO Indonesia, you will act as the bridge between user needs, technical constraints, business goals and market dynamics. Your primary mission is to ensure that every feature we build is not just “cool” or “because a competitor is doing it”, but relevant and essential for our growth and competitive advantage as a platform. You will assist in market assessment, own the requirement gathering process and, more importantly, the
validation
process, measuring whether a feature actually drives venue bookings and user engagement. While assisting the leadership developing future proof roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Gathering & Discovery
Deep Dive Research:
Conduct context gathering, user interviews and surveys with players, team admin, venue owners and relevant stakeholders to uncover areas of opportunities and validate hypotheses.
PRD Ownership:
Translate vague ideas into high-quality Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) that include clear user stories, edge cases, and success metrics.
Stakeholder Sync:
Work closely with the Engineering Lead and Design team to ensure feasibility and UI/UX alignment, and the marketing team to align with our community development & promotion efforts
Strategy:
assist in the development and assessment of go to market strategy with the management team.
2. Feature Assessment & Prioritization
The "Gatekeeper" Role:
Evaluate incoming feature requests from management, marketing, sales, and users. Use frameworks (like RICE or MoSCoW) to assess what we need versus what we want, balancing new feature development with platform stability and technical debt.
Business Alignment:
Vet every feature against our core objective .
If a feature doesn't drive bookings or social play, you must be prepared to challenge its priority.
Roadmap Support:
Assist leadership in maintaining a transparent and data-backed product roadmap and manage the feedback loop between Sales/CS and Engineering to ensure bugs are prioritized alongside features
3. Performance & Impact Analysis
Post-Launch Audits:
You track feature adoption and how it changes user behavior (e.g., does a new social feature actually increase booking frequency?) using tools like Mixpanel and GA4.
Data-Driven Iteration:
Analyze why a feature succeeded or failed and provide recommendations for the next sprint.
ROI Tracking:
Report on how product changes are impacting business KPIs (e.g., Fill Rate, Retention, Booking Conversion).
Qualifications
Experience:
min 4 years of experience in Product Management, ideally in a B2C marketplace, sports-tech, or community-driven platform.
Analytical Mindset:
You are comfortable with data. You don't just report numbers; you find the "Why" behind them. You are hungry to get data and learn the underlying behaviours for users and venues adoption.
Communication:
Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and can communicate in English. Have the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-tech stakeholders (venue owners/community leads) and provide clear, structured logic for developers.
Tooling:
Experience with Jira, Figma (for review), and analytics platforms (Mixpanel/Google Analytics).
Passion:
A genuine interest in the Indonesian sports ecosystem (Padel, Tennis, Mini Soccer, etc.) is a huge plus.
Core Competencies for this Level
Critical Thinking:
The ability to differentiate between a "loud" user request and a "valuable" one.
Empathy:
Understanding the pain points of a venue owner who has an empty court at 2 PM.
Discernment and decisiveness:
Making informed trade-offs when resources are limited.
Cultural Nuance:
Understanding how Indonesians play and organize sports (e.g., the importance of WhatsApp groups in "Mabar" culture) and how to migrate those habits into the app.
