1. Job Purpose
To ensure accurate, secure, and efficient management of all tooling, equipment, and fixtures within the warehouse. This role is responsible for the complete lifecycle control of these assets—from receipt and inspection to storage, issuance, return, and maintenance assuring they are available, in good condition, and traceable to support production and operational needs.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Receiving & Inspection (Incoming Control)
Receive all incoming tooling, equipment, and fixtures from suppliers, internal workshops, or returns.
Verify items against purchase orders, delivery notes, or work orders.
Conduct thorough visual and functional inspections for damage, wear, and completeness.
Accurately label, tag, or barcode each item with unique identification numbers.
Document and report any discrepancies, damages, or non-conformities immediately.
B. Storage & Organization
Maintain a logical storage system for easy retrieval.
Ensure storage conditions are appropriate to prevent damage.
Implement and maintain 5S principle.
C. Issuance & Dispensing (Outgoing Control)
Process tooling requests from production, maintenance, or engineering teams.
Issue the correct items as per pick lists or work orders.
Record all issuances in the tracking system noting user, job number, date, and time.
Ensure proper authorization is obtained for the release of controlled or high-value items.
3. Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
Diploma or Degree in mechanical background.
Proven experience as a storekeeper, warehouse operative, or tool crib attendant in a manufacturing, engineering, or maintenance environment.
Strong understanding of tooling, equipment, and fixtures.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Basic computer literacy for using inventory management systems and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel).
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
