Chief Engineer

About the role OCS Indonesia, a leading provider of integrated facilities management services, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Engineer to oversee the smooth operation and maintenance of our diverse portfolio of client properties. In this full‑time role based in Jakarta, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of all building systems, while also driving continuous improvements to enhance the overall experience for our clients and their tenants.

What you'll be doing

Manage and oversee the work of the engineering team, ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out to the highest standards.

Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance programs to maximise the lifespan and performance of building systems and equipment.

Identify and address any issues or malfunctions promptly, implementing effective solutions to minimise disruptions.

Collaborate with operation managers, project managers and procurement teams to oversee capital improvement projects and equipment upgrades.

Maintain detailed records and documentation on building systems, equipment, and maintenance activities.

Ensure full compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering their professional development.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and procedures.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in engineering, ideally in mechanical, electrical or facilities management.

Minimum 3‑5 years of progressive experience in a Chief Engineer or Senior Engineering role, preferably within the facilities management industry, data center building management.

Comprehensive understanding of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, cooling system and fire protection systems.

Solid experience in cooling system, mechanical & electrical, energy consumption & saving analysis and report.

Good understanding of planning & costing related to mechanical, electrical and engineering is required.

Proven track record of leading and managing a team of technicians and engineers.

Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think analytically and creatively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, contractors, and cross‑functional teams.
