We are looking for a seasoned and practical
Live Event Director
to lead the end-to-end delivery of our annual tournament calendar in Indonesia. You are not just a commander on-site but also a builder of processes. You must balance minute details with macro budgets, ensuring that every event is delivered safely, on time, and with premium quality, while establishing SOPs to standardize our execution capability.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities
1) Content & show flow planning
Plan on-site and live-show presentation based on format/schedule/standards provided by Tournament Planning/Product and the Referee Team
Shape the tournament-day program structure: match blocks, stage segments, interactive moments, guest/player appearances
Produce and maintain key directing documents:
minute-by-minute Run Down / Cue Sheet , execution checklist, rehearsal plan, key messaging notes
2) Pre-production & readiness
Design and implement player flow, audience flow, and zoning (competition/stage/broadcast/media/VIP etc.)
Coordinate with vendors (production/EO/venue) on rehearsal, load-in, build, signal & network tests, and milestones
Ensure quality of outputs: on-site presentation, info display (schedule/brackets/scores), broadcast packaging, venue signage
Align internal/external teams: host/stage, referee liaison, director/TD, camera crews, security, operations
Sync with PR and content/media teams on must-capture moments, asset requirements, specs and publishing rhythm
Communicate effectively with partners/venues/institutions to ensure smooth delivery (negotiation capability is a plus)
Lead show control: manage tempo across matches and stage segments, run rehearsals and live ops, ensure safe and complete delivery
Broadcast coordination: camera plan, switching logic, info graphics (matchups/brackets/scores), replay points
Handle incidents: delays, equipment/network issues, crowd congestion, conflicts—make fast calls and coordinate resolution
5) Post-event review
Post-mortem and reusable templates: issue list, key improvements, next-stop action plan (owner + deadline)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred;
3+ years
in tournament/event directing, show control, or live content production (sports/esports/mind sports preferred)
Solid understanding of end-to-end event production and basic live broadcast workflow; strong on-site control
Strong time management and multi-task execution; calm under pressure; strong incident response
Strong communication and stakeholder management; collaborative and accountable
Ability to translate complex tournament info (format/brackets) into clear public-facing displays (tables/graphics/explainer script directions)
Willing to travel and work extended hours during event periods
Language
Local candidates: Bahasa Indonesia required; working English is a plus
Chinese candidates: Indonesian not required, but
working English is mandatory
Nice to have
Experience communicating with government/associations/venues (plus, not mandatory)
Domino/tabletop/mind sports experience or interest
Basic design/video tool literacy (PS/PR equivalents) or ability to guide content quality
