About the role We are looking for an

Entry-Level

Accounting Clerk

who will be responsible for accurately entering and maintaining financial data related to vendor bills, customer invoices, and bank matching transactions. This role ensures that all invoices are entered in a timely and accurate manner to support the organization’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities Enter vendor/customer invoices into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy in amounts, dates, and coding to correct expense accounts. Verify invoice details against purchase orders, receipts, or contracts before processing. Maintain organized electronic and/or physical records of invoices, payments, and correspondence. Assist with three-way matching (PO, invoice, and receiving report). Review data for errors or discrepancies and make corrections as needed. Ensure all invoices are properly approved according to company policy prior to entry. Communicate with vendors to resolve billing discrepancies or obtain missing documentation. Support the Finance team during the month-end close by ensuring all data entry is completed and accurate. Follow internal controls and confidentiality standards related to financial data. Assist with collections by sending payment reminders or following up on overdue accounts. Follow ticket and citation contesting procedures Record and apply customer payments (checks, ACH, credit cards) to corresponding invoices.

Required Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred). 0–3 years of experience in accounts payable/receivable or general accounting. Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail. Basic understanding of any accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Bill.com, NetSuite, or similar). Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets (pivot tables, sorting, formulas). Nice to have Qualifications Experience with automated systems (e.g., Bill.com, Coupa). Knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP). Experience with purchase order systems and three-way matching. Typical Work Environment Standard California (PST) business hours, with flexibility during month-end close. Work under supervision of an Accounting Manager.
