Role Summary
Responsible for the administration, support, and optimization of infrastructure components supporting Cloud SaaS. Ensure high availability, security, and performance of systems through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in a 24/7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Systems & Server Administration
Administer HP and Cisco blade servers, VMWare virtualization environments, and AWS EC2 instances.
Manage server activities: restarts, memory upgrades, log analysis, and health monitoring.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and drive closure of identified risks.
Network & Security Operations
Execute network-related tasks: DNS, Firewall, WAF, iRules, CDN, bandwidth management, port opening, VIP mapping.
Manage authentication & authorization tools, access management, DNS, DHCP.
Handle SSL certificate management (Verisign/Internal), Single Sign-On concepts, and basic networking.
Database & Storage Management
Administer MySQL databases: query optimization, process list, data truncation, object/index creation, privilege management, deadlock resolution.
Manage storage-related tasks and incidents, ensuring data integrity and availability.
Perform OS-based data replication and backup operations.
Application & Middleware Support
Configure and support Apache (mod_jk, rewrite rules, virtual hosting, reverse proxy, load balancing, HTTP headers).
Administer JBoss & Tomcat (heap size, thread/heap dump, GC logs).
Support application deployments, batch monitoring, process management, error/exception handling, and script modifications.
ITSM & Process Improvement
Apply ITIL framework and ITSM tools/processes for incident, problem, and change management.
Recommend and implement process improvements for infrastructure reliability and efficiency.
Maintain documentation and SOPs for operational excellence.
Scripting & Automation
Develop and maintain scripts for automation, monitoring, and support tasks (e.g., Bash, Shell, Python).
Work in a 24/7 shift environment, ensuring rapid response to incidents and minimizing downtime.
Monitor system health, respond to alerts, and elevate issues as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum L2-level experience in Linux administration (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
Experience with authentication & authorization, DNS, DHCP, OS-based data replication.
Well-versed in ITIL framework and ITSM tools/processes.
Understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.
Knowledge of Single Sign-On, SSL certificates, networking basics, SQL, JDBC, Java concepts.
Experience with Apache, JBoss, Tomcat, VMWare, HP/Cisco blade servers.
Vulnerability assessment and closure experience.
MySQL query and administration skills.
Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift environment (mandatory).
Preferred Certifications
ITIL Foundation, Linux certifications (RHCE, LFCS), AWS Certified SysOps/Admin, or similar.
