Data Center Country Manager (Technical + Business Operations)

Data Center Country Manager (Technical + Business Operations) Our client is a leading Data Center operator on growth mode building AI-ready Data Centres, backed by one of Indonesia's largest business groups. They are currently seeking an Indonesia Country Manager for their expansion there.

As the Data Center Country Manager, you are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's DC operations and managing P&L, driving business growth. The successful candidate will have proven track record in bringing in new customers and closing deals (ideally strong connections with Chinese enterprises and Chinese hyperscalers customers), and strong leadership experience.

Kindly note that the position is based in Jakarta Indonesia - our client is open to relocate people from Singapore, Malaysia and nearby countries, provided that the candidate has a good understanding of Indonesia DC market.

Responsibilities Datacenter Operations Oversight Supervise all facets of datacenter operations in Indonesia, encompassing infrastructure management, security measures, and service provision.

Strategic Business Development Formulate and execute strategic initiatives aimed at business expansion and meeting revenue goals in line with corporate objectives.

Joint Venture and Partnership Management Manage the establishment and operations of joint ventures and partnerships to enhance the company's market presence and capabilities in Indonesia. Oversee financial performance, manage budget allocations, and implement cost‑saving measures to increase profitability and return on investment.

Client and Stakeholder Relationship Management Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to boost customer satisfaction and loyalty. Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of datacenter construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet quality standards.

Process Optimization and Customer Experience Collaborate with international teams to optimize processes and ensure improvements that enhance overall customer experience.

Industry and Market Analysis Keep informed about industry trends, new technologies, and the competitive environment to pinpoint opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.

Industry Representation Represent the company at industry conferences, forums, and networking events to increase brand visibility and reputation.

Corporate Culture and Ethics Promote the company's values, culture, and ethical standards, fostering an inclusive, positive work environment and supporting diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

10+ years of data center related experience in the APAC region with good understanding of Indonesia data centre market

Proven track record in bringing in new customers and closing deals, ideally strong connections with Chinese enterprises and Chinese hyperscalers customers

Strong business acumen with proven experience on managing P/L

Experience with obtaining construction permits and liaising with government and energy agencies on obtaining necessary licenses and utilities.

Experience with fast‑track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects.

Good understanding of data center site selection requirement and project development/ design and build mechanism.

Experience in business negotiation with vendors, supplier, consultant and government agency.

Possess leadership and problem‑solving skills.

Motivated and highly dependable, requiring limited oversight.
