Legal Officer (Land & Tenant)

As a Legal Officer, you are responsible to provide legal expertise and support on all matters related to land acquisition, land ownership, lease agreements, and tenant relations. This role ensures legal compliance in property dealings and helps resolve disputes between landlords, tenants, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Review and draft legal documents related to land acquisition, sales, leases, easements, and land use.

Conduct due diligence on land titles, encumbrances, and ownership history.

Coordinate with land registries and local authorities to ensure proper registration and documentation of land transactions.

Advise management on land laws, zoning regulations, and government directives affecting land ownership or use.

Draft, review, and negotiate lease agreements and tenancy contracts in accordance with legal standards.

Ensure compliance with tenancy laws, rent control regulations, and lease terms.

Handle tenant disputes, evictions, rent arrears, and breach of contract cases.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB)

Minimum 3–5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in real estate, land administration, or tenancy law.

In-depth knowledge of land laws, tenancy laws, and property regulations.

Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and dispute resolution abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.
