Responsibilities

Vendor identification and selection (research, identify, and evaluate potential vendors' transportation to meet the organization's needs, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and compliance standards)

Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors, ensuring favorable conditions for the organization

Monitor vendor performance against agreed-upon metrics, identifying areas for improvement and addressing any issues promptly

Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, fostering collaboration and trust

Ensure vendors comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies, and identify and mitigate potential risks

Identify opportunities to reduce costs through strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and vendor performance improvements

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vendor information, contracts, and performance data

Serve as a liaison between the organization and vendors, communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors

Identify and resolve issues that arise in vendor relationships, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery of goods and services

Ensure all transportation units fulfilled as per request

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is generally required

3-5 years of experience in transportation vendor management, procurement, or a related role is often expected

Experience in managing or implementing projects, preferably in coordination with vendors, is a plus

Strong negotiation and contract management skills are crucial for securing favorable terms and managing vendor relationships

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders

The ability to analyze vendor performance, identify issues, and develop solutions is important

The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors is key to successful vendor management

Experience in strategic sourcing and identifying potential vendors

Knowledge of cost analysis and techniques for reducing vendor-related costs

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Spreadsheets
