Paint Shop Technical Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer

1. JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview ● Planning & execution of production processes, handling errors / defects, optimizing costs and continuously improving when mass producing at an automotive paint shop specifically for PTED, sealer application and topcoat applications for both body and plastic components.

Organization Management, Human Development ● Effectively train, coach and support Maintenance and Production teams in problem solving and resolution activities relating to Process/Technical. ● Develops training material and conduct and coordinate training sessions in areas related to process & technical support and Paint Shop operation. ● Provides leadership by mentoring and training in the use of lean tools, ensuring transfer of knowledge, and creating a culture of continuous improvement.

Financial Management ● Cost optimization / Cost management

System Management ● MES, ECOEMOS, Teamcenter, CATIA, DCR, JIRA

Functional Job ● Analyze and evaluate technical requirements for new products and new colors when put into production ● Develop a detailed plan to bring new products into production and Monitor & coordinate plans during new product testing. ● Prepare all paint shop process control documents: PFD, PFMEA, PCP, SOS/JES, STS/TIS etc. for new projects / models / running changes in the existing products. ● Involvement in the process / controls engineering during installation, commissioning, buy-off and start of production of the plant and equipment. ● Ensuring that process quality control strategies are developed, monitored and tracked to ensure robust systems are in place and strictly adhered. ● Lead troubleshooting analysis and Problem-solving process for the technical, operational, or quality issues occurred during production. ● Mapping process weakness / risks and mitigation opportunities for the continuous improvement of paint shop process. ● Work with suppliers to integrate, upgrade, install robots, conveyors, equipment, and necessary tools into current infrastructure ● Proving out process (PTED, Sealer & Topcoat) parameter for new product & provide counter measure for the identified issues. ● Responsible for deciding definition of tutone process and work for target masking time achievement. ● Calculating, optimization Operator's based on production planned. Line balancing, handling bottleneck during production process for meet production planned. ● Control the line balancing by focusing on reducing walk paths, combining job elements, cycle time and ergonomic optimization to increase productivity efficiency and achieve a cost-efficient process. ● Create and manage technical documentation for automation systems and controls ● Continuously focus on paint appearance improvement activities (Finish & color matching) by application process optimization and paint material improvement.

Others ● Ensure compliance with factory regulations ● Monitor system performance and take preventative actions ● Propose ideas for continuous improvement to improve production process efficiency

2. REQUIREMENTS

Degree/ Qualification ● Bachelor’s Degree in engineering major in Mechanical / Chemical / Paint Technology / Automobile.

Experience ● 5+ years experience in Paint Process Engineering, its application methods, issues & countermeasures with domain knowledge of manufacturing processes at Paint Shops. ● Experience in process design considering capacity requirement, material flow and process requirement. ● Work with 2D and 3D technical drawings to evaluate implementation feasibility ● Control technical changes, provide solutions for process planning, facility planning & setup. ● Having knowledge and Prepare all core process control documents as per VinFast Manufacturing system. ● Have experience working with contractors for Installations, tools, jig, equipment's and designing of painting jigs & sealer nozzles. ● Industrial engineering experience - bottleneck identification & elimination by optimizing production line, line balancing, continuous improvement & cycle time reduction. ● Experienced in coordinating and creating sound working relationships with production, maintenance, design department, purchase, suppliers and other cross functional departments as required in order to work together as one team for great outcomes for the business.
