Nickel Trading Specialist

Company Description Sherman Group is a growing business specializing in nickel trading, mining, and shipping. As part of our business expansion, we are seeking an experienced Nickel Ore Trader to strengthen our commercial operations in Jakarta.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Jakarta. The Nickel Ore Trader will be responsible for driving profitable trading activities, including sourcing nickel ore supply, developing buyer networks, and executing commercial transactions end-to-end. The role requires strong market intelligence capabilities to monitor nickel ore price movements, analyze supply‑demand trends, and identify strategic trading opportunities. The successful candidate will lead price negotiations, structure and execute sales and purchase contracts, coordinate logistics and supply chain execution, ensure compliance with applicable trade regulations, and prepare comprehensive commercial and market reports for management. This position requires a strong commercial mindset, risk awareness, and the ability to manage relationships across miners, smelters, traders, and industrial buyers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Mining, Metallurgy, or related field.

Trading and negotiation skills in the commodities market, particularly in nickel ore.

Strong negotiation and contract execution experience in trading transactions.

Proven ability to analyze market data and identify commercial opportunities (Research skills specially for Nickel Market).

Solid understanding of nickel ore market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and supply chain structure.

Experience in mining, smelter, or trading companies is highly preferred.

Minimum 5 years of experience in commodity trading, preferably nickel ore.

Fluent English is required; Mandarin is a strong advantage.

Special Requirement

Established connections within the nickel mining industry, including IUP holders.

Active and verifiable network of buyers, smelters, and traders.

Has an extensive network in the nickel mining industry, including contractors and IUP holders.

Commercially driven, target‑oriented, and capable of working in a fast‑paced trading environment.
