About the Role
The Parts Interpreter plays a critical role in supporting oil & gas operations by accurately identifying, sourcing, and coordinating essential spare parts required for all equipment and safety‑critical systems.
This position ensures high planning uptime, compliance with industry standards, and timely availability of parts essential to operational continuity, asset integrity, and HSE compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Parts Identification & Technical Understanding
Read technical drawings, manuals, and equipment documents.
Identify correct spare parts for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
Find replacement parts for obsolete items using approved alternatives.
Ensure parts meet industry and company standards.
Maintenance & Operations Support
Provide parts advice to engineers, planners, and technicians.
Ensure that critical spare parts are available for maintenance needs.
Work with procurement to source approved spare parts.
Communicate with suppliers on quotations, documents, and delivery.
Ensure suppliers meet company and industry requirements.
Follow up urgent or critical parts deliveries.
Inventory & Documentation
Update system records with accurate part details and stock levels.
Help verify received parts meet technical specifications.
Maintain required certificates and technical documentation.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
Ensure parts comply with safety, quality, and industry standards.
Support audits related to inventory and maintenance records.
Prevent counterfeit parts by ensuring proper certification and traceability.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical/Instrumentation, or related technical field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in spare parts interpretation, maintenance support, or supply chain functions within oil & gas, petrochemical, LNG, or energy industries.
Equivalent technical experience in oil & gas equipment support is acceptable.
Hands‑on familiarity with oil & gas field equipment, such as rotating machinery, valves, instrumentation, and safety systems.
Experience working with CMMS/ERP systems (SAP, Maximo, Oracle, IFS) is preferred.
Strong understanding of industry standards (API, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISO).
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Knowledge of hazardous area classifications (ATEX, IECEx) for parts selection.
Understanding of rotating and static equipment components.
Proficiency in parts catalog and inventory systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under tight deadlines, especially during shutdowns and emergencies.
Willing and able to travel to Australia/Overseas.
The position will be based in North Jakarta.
