Software Engineer Supervisor

Squad Supervisor is responsible for providing technical leadership and direction to a team of IT professionals, ensuring the efficient operation of the organization’s IT systems. This role involves overseeing day‑to‑day IT activities, project management, technical support, and the maintenance of IT infrastructure to meet the organization’s goals and requirements.

Responsibilities

Actively monitor and manage code repository, code reviews, and manage software rollout.

Determine project requirements and develop work schedules for the team.

Delegate tasks and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly goals.

Identify risks and form contingency plans as soon as possible.

Liaise with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to standard.

Monitor and ensure the performance and availability of the software currently in production.

Monitor and set up development & production environments with Software Engineer managers.

Write progress reports and deliver presentations to relevant stakeholders.

Update work schedules and perform identify risks as required.

Be transparent with the team about challenges, failures, and successes.

Motivate staff and create a space where they can ask questions and voice their concerns.

Analyze existing operations and schedule training sessions and meetings to discuss improvements.

Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.

Required Skills

Minimum 2 years of experience in IT Supervisor or related field.

Experience with multiple programming languages and libraries (e.g. PHP, Typescript, Go).

Good knowledge of Windows/Linux Server and Database.

Experience with Agile & Scrum development methodologies.

Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience handling projects with substantial levels of traffic or user engagement.
