Details of the Division and Team
The Business Compliance Advisor is responsible for providing regulatory advice to relevant business and/or infrastructure areas and typically has regional coverage. The Business Compliance Advisor supports DSI management and the specific business/infrastructure area in accordance with respective processes and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks within those areas. They focus on all non-financial risk categories of the stakeholders and have a deep knowledge of their coverage areas. This role provides key support to Local compliance management and Regional Compliance, engaging with regulators for ad-hoc information requests and regulatory audits/inspections. The role requires compliance and risk management that is independent and aligned with OJK regulation for securities companies.

Your key responsibilities
Advise the Business and Infrastructure teams on Compliance-related matters.
Support DSI management and employees in understanding and managing: the application of Deutsche Bank’s ethical standards and professional principles; general compliance with laws, rules, regulations, directives, and DB Group standards; escalation of issues, incidents, and breaches; and implementation of processes and procedures regarding abuse of assets, information, or procedures.
Manage cross-border compliance-related matters and ensure clear accountability across the first and second lines of defence.
Report to DSI management/board and regulators on Compliance matters, including risk exposures, incidents, and effectiveness of the Compliance framework; undertake risk assessments and develop remedial actions as needed.
Monitor and test compliance with laws, regulations, and internal controls; support management in identifying remedial actions.
Participate in projects to ensure adherence to standards and mitigate risks; liaise with Compliance senior management within the DB Group for reporting and escalation.
Provide advice on development of new activities in line with processes; promote a compliance-aware culture through local education and awareness initiatives.
Act as a confidential point of contact for staff to raise concerns; provide local and regional support to Compliance management teams as required.
Your skills and experience
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Significant experience as a Compliance Officer in a local or international financial institution or Regulatory Authority is desirable but not essential.
Certification aligned with regulatory requirements (e.g., Compliance Certification/Underwriter Certification) is desirable.
Familiar with compliance-related laws and regulations, especially those related to securities; knowledge of international and European laws is a plus.
Excellent knowledge of banking and investment products; good understanding of regional directives and cross-border marketing regulations.
Project management skills for local Compliance projects and collaboration with global Compliance teams; desirable but not essential.
Strong interpersonal skills, integrity, discretion, and ability to work in a matrix structure.
A proactive, hands-on approach; ability to work with regulators and internal stakeholders under pressure.
Ability to build relationships with local legal, regulatory, and public authorities and partner with Compliance peers and other risk/control functions.
Willingness to work with senior management within the country and Deutsche Bank Group.
