Expense & Cost Management Assistant Manager

Job Descriptions:

Budget Planning & Expense Monitoring Prepare annual budgets with full justification and proper approvals. Track monthly spend vs. budget; flag overruns and follow up. Maintain spending trackers and ensure visibility of budget utilization. Support quarterly spending reviews and ensure documentation compliance. Keep project approvals aligned between systems and manual records. Forecasting & Variance Analysis Prepare quarterly OPEX forecasts using trends and current inputs. Conduct monthly variance analysis with clear explanations and action steps. Provide financial insights to managers and departments. ACR Governance & DOA Compliance Validate ACR requests for criteria, funding, and supporting detail. Ensure approval routing and timely sign-off per DOA. Maintain audit-ready ACR files. Month-End Closing & Financial Control Coordinate accruals and propose journal adjustments. Ensure all activities are documented. Monitor postings for accuracy and compliance.

Requirements: Minimum 3–5 years experience in Budgeting, Expense Management, Accounting, or Finance Operations. Experience in life insurance industry and Coupa system is a strong advantage. Strong understanding of budgeting, expense governance, DOA, ACR rules, and procurement SOP. Strong analytical ability for variance analysis, forecasting, and financial review. High proficiency in Excel; Power BI and PowerPoint skills preferred. Basic accounting knowledge, ideally with insurance accounting exposure. High discipline and accuracy in documentation; detail-oriented. Good compliance mindset and rule-driven approach. Ability to manage pressure during closing periods and tight timelines. Strong communication and follow-up discipline with stakeholders. Willingness to challenge spending requests with insufficient justification.
