Job Role
The client is seeking for someone who is closer to a technical design authority and solution lead who takes ownership during and after project sales. As this is a hybrid role, they’re looking for a solution expert who has hands-on experience in Pre Sales and After Sales.
During sales bidding, they act like a technical solution director → engaging customers, designing proposals, ensuring technical feasibility. After sales or the project execution, they act like a technical project/design authority → leading design teams, reviewing drawings, guiding subcontractors, ensuring compliance and risk management. The Data Center Technical Director (DC TD) will act as the technical leader for data center design and integration projects, responsible for guiding design teams, ensuring technical excellence, and engaging customers at senior levels. The role requires strong expertise in electrical and HVAC systems, as well as large-scale data center standards and integration.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement: Act as the technical authority in customer discussions, presenting the company's data center solutions.
Design Leadership: Lead the design delivery team, responsible for system design, load calculations, technical route selection, and budget proposals.
Technical Oversight: Guide subcontractors to produce shop drawings, and ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
Risk Management: Identify and manage technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Standards & Integration: Ensure designs comply with data center standards, integration testing (TCCF), and bidding processes.
Global Collaboration: Work with cross-border teams and adapt solutions for international projects, particularly across the Asia-Pacific region.
Candidate Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Building Services, Electrical, Mechanical, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience:
More than 5 years of hands-on experience in data center design and solution, within the Pre Sales and Post Sales roles.
Experience in large-scale data centers (>500 racks).
Technical Expertise:
Proven track record in customer engagement, technical proposal development, and revenue-focused solution design.
Experience supporting bids and tenders, presenting to customers, and ensuring technical competitiveness of solutions.
Professional Skills:
Strong adaptability, team collaboration, and resilience in multicultural settings.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Willing to travel globally, especially within the Asia-Pacific region.
Language: Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
