Requirements

Regulated health professional, in good standing with their associated regulatory body

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience of clinical experience in a hospital setting, with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of clinical processes and data integration systems

Minimum of two (2) years’ previous experience in clinical informatics in a hospital environment is preferred

Experience and knowledge of clinical accountabilities and skills across the continuum of care and opportunities through digital health tools

Working knowledge of LEAN methodologies and value stream mapping

Working knowledge of SNOMED-CT, FHIR, and openEHR Archetype is a plus

Process-centric thinking: ability to decompose process steps and analyze opportunities

Subject matter expert (SME) for clinical applications such as openEHR (Electronic Health Record) and open healthcare platform such as Better Care.

Self-directed individual, able to work independently and collaboratively

Excellent interpersonal skills to enable interaction and communication with diverse stakeholders

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Team and customer focused with the ability to communicate respectfully in a pleasant, flexible and professional manner with all patients, families, staff and volunteers

Responsibilities POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Clinical Informatics Specialist role focuses on the integration of computer and communications technologies and clinical change initiatives that enhance evidence-based clinical practices, access to patient/client information and clinical documentation via the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in collaboration with clinical leaders, service and program managers and directors, physicians, and staff.

The position will provide day-to-day integrated oversight to ensure alignment, project delivery of Clinical Informatics initiatives, identification of impediments to delivery and adoption to support company’s strategic direction and digital health strategy. In addition, this position serves as a Clinical Informatics representative for internal and regional Clinical Informatics activities that increase the effectiveness, efficiency, accountability and sustainability of clinical initiatives that assist in the successful adoption of integrated digital health tools, including the EHR.

In addition to the above, some of the primary responsibilities include:

Support the Chief Information Officer, Manager of Digital Health and company stakeholders in planning and prioritizing activities to support the organization’s Digital Health strategy.

Qualified as a health care professional and understands the linkage between clinical data, analytics, and application to clinical practice evolution.

Provides support to providers, nursing and clinical staff to incorporate advances in clinical informatics and the development of electronic health records into practice.

Informs the design, development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of electronic health information systems and their related standards, protocols and procedures to support clinical uptake of electronic health and information records.

Support clinical data analytics and clinical business intelligence within company by ensuring systems are designed and implemented to facilitate ease of reporting and analysis.

Provides and evaluates clinical systems training that meets the learning needs of the system end users.
