The Role We are looking for an

SDET

who thinks like an

engineer who tests , not a tester who automates. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and quality, you will own the reliability, performance, and security of a payments platform that processes high-volume transactions daily.

You will build and maintain test infrastructure, design frameworks from scratch, model failure scenarios, and serve as a quality risk owner across the release cycle.

Key Responsibilities Test Strategy & Reliability Planning Execute and contribute to test plans ensuring all critical functionality is validated before release Identify test cases that cover reliability scenarios including load spikes, concurrent transactions, and failure points under stress Own quality gates as a risk owner, not a passive tester : document risk, escalate appropriately, and make release risk visible to stakeholders Test Automation & Framework Development Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks, with direct ownership over architecture, not just script execution Write automated unit and integration tests for validating features across the payments platform Implement and maintain automation scripts that integrate with CI/CD pipelines Ensure framework scalability and reliability as the platform grows Quality Assurance & Continuous Testing Execute test cases for new features, ensuring they meet functional requirements, and perform root cause analysis on defects Validate environment parity between staging and production to prevent issues that pass automation but surface in production Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, focusing on at-risk transaction paths and edge cases Performance Testing & Optimization Design and run load tests to measure system performance under expected and peak load scenarios (e.g., flash-sale spikes, simultaneous checkout bursts) Identify performance bottlenecks, latency concerns, and degradation patterns, and report them for resolution Contribute to performance benchmarking and capacity planning Security & Compliance Testing Perform security testing for new features and identify vulnerabilities in the software Assist in ensuring the platform adheres to security and compliance standards relevant to the payments industry
