Job Description In line with our increasing business, AFRY is looking for a

Senior Electrical Engineer

for our renewable energy and gas‑fired combined‑cycle power plant projects. We are seeking a person with a minimum of 7 years of work experience from power utilities, independent power producers, equipment suppliers, consultancy or engineering companies.

We offer an interesting and challenging opportunity at the forefront of the power industry. The role involves electrical engineering services both during the development and execution phase of the project, covering conceptual, basic and FEED design, feasibility studies, EPC tendering, technical due diligences, and review of EPC contractor’s detail design during the execution phase. Projects are in Indonesia and elsewhere in the SE Asia region.

Scope of Work

Prepare conceptual designs and feasibility studies for the electrical systems of medium to large power plants, including gas turbine combined cycle, gas engine, biomass and waste‑to‑energy plants, solar PV and wind farm projects, as well as transmission lines and substations.

Act as the electrical engineer in lenders’ technical advisory projects and technical due diligences.

Prepare electrical technical specifications for inclusion in EPC tender documents.

Undertake bid evaluations and negotiations on behalf of the client for projects leading to EPC contract award.

Provide basic and FEED design for power plant projects.

Conduct design review of power plant electrical systems in both thermal and renewable energy projects.

Conduct meetings and prepare minutes of meeting.

Much of the work involves writing reports in English, so very good English language skills are a must. The position is located in Jakarta, Indonesia, with projects throughout the South‑East Asia region and occasional short‑term assignments elsewhere in SEA.

Qualifications

Minimum baccalaureate degree in Electrical Engineering with a particular focus on power engineering.

Minimum of seven years of professional experience in the power sector.

Knowledge of Indonesian Grid Code.

Strong analytical capability, leadership skills and self‑motivated.

Good time‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Good inter‑personal skills and a proven ability to work with colleagues of other disciplines.

Fluency in written and spoken English and in Bahasa Indonesia.
