Responsibilities
Prepare weekly schedules for fabrication and machine shop activities and ensure updates are reflected in the Factory Planning system. Attend weekly cross‑functional planning and operations meetings to review schedules, resolve conflicts, and align priorities. Monitor production progress and report any deviations from planned schedules to stakeholders.
Perform capacity and material planning for backlog and forecast orders. Manage raw material requirements for new orders and forecast orders. Check inventory levels and notify Planning Manager for ordering of materials for new projects.
Assist with implementation of transition from spreadsheet‑based capacity and inventory planning to fully ERP‑based factory planning system. Schedule all planned work through the Factory Planning scheduling system. Ensure part numbers and BOMs are properly created and maintained to align with ERP functionality and enable full system utility.
Review current capacity booked for backlog orders and provide lead times to Sales and internal departments.
Monitor the status of production processes, report deviations, support CPD sales on inventory checks, and ensure database integrity. Review and ensure creation and maintenance of Part Numbers align with ERP requirements to enable full functionality.
Assist with ongoing and future implementations and planning process improvements.
Support and monitor quality objectives and initiatives within the Planning department. Ensure timely upload of production schedules in Master Control and ensure integrity and accuracy of planning databases, inventory records, and part master data.
Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the Planning Manager.
Support and participate in external and internal audits (e.g., API, EHS).
Qualifications
Formal Education & Certification
Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Project Management or Planning.
Experience in implementing and running MRP/ERP system scheduling function in a medium‑scale industry.
3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, assembly & testing.
Competent in ERP software and Microsoft Applications – Excel, Word, MS‑Project.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar); experience in ERP transitions is a plus.
Proficient in MS Excel and scheduling tools.
Familiarity with fabrication, machining, and materials processes is preferred.
Personal Attributes
Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and communication.
Possess solid analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving skills. Keen interest in organising/improving planning systems from an elementary state.
Meticulous, adaptive to changes and able to prioritise multiple projects.
Able to perform independently and also as part of a team.
