On behalf of a globally established industrial energy technology group, we are conducting a confidential search for its Group Chief Technology Officer. The organization operates at the forefront of advanced lithium-ion battery platforms, high-reliability electrochemical systems, embedded mobility solutions and large-scale energy storage infrastructure. This mandate sits at the intersection of fundamental electrochemistry, advanced materials science, systems engineering and industrial platform architecture.

The Scientific & Strategic Mandate The Group CTO will: Define the long-term scientific and technological orientation of advanced lithium-based and next-generation electrochemical platforms. Lead a substantial global R&D organization, spanning cell chemistry, materials development, systems integration, safety engineering and industrialization. Govern the transition from laboratory innovation to certified, scalable industrial platforms. Establish strategic collaborations with universities, research institutes and global technology partners. Represent the Group within international scientific conferences, technical advisory boards and innovation ecosystems. This role requires an individual capable of bridging academic rigor and industrial discipline — someone equally credible in a scientific symposium and a Board strategy session.

The Profile Sought

We are seeking a very talented leader who combines: A recognized scientific reputation , can be in electrochemistry, battery materials, lithium-ion systems or adjacent energy technologies. International visibility through for instance peer-reviewed publications, keynote conferences or participation in scientific advisory committees. Proven leadership of multi-site R&D and advanced engineering teams. Demonstrated success in translating advanced research into certified, manufacturable, competitive industrial platforms. Strategic clarity in defining technology roadmaps, platform architecture and long-cycle innovation governance.

A PhD in electrochemistry, materials science, energy systems or a related discipline is strongly valued.
