Position Overview
We’re recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join a leading packaging company focused on sustainable and innovative packaging solutions. The role will own new business development and strategic channel growth within assigned territories and market segments. The successful candidate will build and manage high-value customer relationships, develop go-to-market plans, and work closely with product, R&D, operations, and supply chain teams to translate customer needs into commercially viable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement business development and account acquisition strategies to achieve revenue, margin, and market-share objectives
Identify, prospect, qualify, and convert new customers including brand owners, converters, distributors, and retail/manufacturing clients
Manage and expand strategic accounts through value-based selling, technical consultation, and regular engagement
Prepare commercial proposals, pricing models, and terms in collaboration with pricing and commercial teams
Gather and communicate market intelligence and customer feedback to product, R&D, and development teams to influence product roadmap and custom solutions
Coordinate with operations and supply chain to validate feasibility, manage lead times, and secure on-time delivery
Maintain accurate sales pipeline, forecasts, and CRM records; report on opportunity status and sales performance
Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions while ensuring compliance with company policies and risk controls
Create account plans, territory plans, and long-term pricing strategies to maximize customer lifetime value
Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows to generate leads and strengthen brand presence
Mentor and support junior commercial staff or cross-functional colleagues to raise overall sales capability
Identify process and commercial improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Packaging Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of B2B business development or sales experience in the packaging, materials, or manufacturing sectors with a proven record of winning new accounts
Experience selling technical or engineered packaging products and collaborating with R&D, operations, and supply chain teams
Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, margin management, and contract structuring
Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Comfortable using CRM systems and sales reporting tools; high proficiency with Excel
Ability to travel to customer sites and industry events as required
Clear verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of sustainable packaging trends, regulations, and material science is advantageous
