What you'll do:
As an IT Application Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of essential business applications. Provide comprehensive Level 2 and Level 3 support for applications developed on the .NET platform, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues.
Troubleshoot, analyse, and resolve production incidents efficiently to minimise downtime and maintain user satisfaction.
Monitor application performance metrics and system health indicators proactively to identify potential areas of improvement.
Conduct thorough root cause analysis for recurring issues and document detailed incident resolutions for future reference.
Work closely with software developers to coordinate the deployment of fixes, patches, and enhancements across various environments.
Support database-related challenges by addressing SQL Server issues and collaborating with relevant teams as needed.
Assist in testing activities, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and provide support during release deployments to ensure smooth transitions.
Maintain up-to-date documentation covering system processes, configurations, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures.
Ensure all supported applications adhere strictly to security protocols and data protection standards as required by organisational policies.

To excel as an IT Application Support Specialist, you will bring proven experience supporting enterprise-grade applications built on the .NET stack. Your background should include hands-on involvement with C# programming tasks, SQL Server management, and troubleshooting production issues under time-sensitive conditions. Familiarity with RESTful services ensures you can navigate modern integration scenarios confidently. Experience working within Windows Server environments-particularly with IIS-and exposure to cloud technologies like Azure will further enhance your effectiveness. Demonstrated proficiency in supporting .NET / .NET Core / ASP.NET applications within enterprise environments over at least two years.
Solid experience programming with C#, enabling effective troubleshooting and minor code adjustments when necessary.
Hands-on expertise managing Microsoft SQL Server databases, including query optimisation and issue resolution.
A clear understanding of REST APIs and web services architecture as it relates to application integration.
Familiarity with IIS administration within Windows Server environments for deploying and maintaining web applications.
Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure is considered advantageous for future-proofing skills.
Experience utilising ticketing systems like JIRA or ServiceNow for tracking incidents and managing workflow efficiently.
A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline provides foundational knowledge for success in this role.
