Product Development Specialist(Retail Category Buyer) We are looking for a Product Development Specialist/Category buyer

focusing on cosmetic/snack/daily use products

to support our product development and sourcing activities in the local market. This role plays a key part in identifying high-potential products, building supplier networks, coordinating orders, collecting market insights, and ensuring smooth collaboration between local suppliers and our headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, approach, and onboard local suppliers across relevant product categories. Maintain long-term supplier relationships and evaluate supplier performance. Conduct basic commercial negotiations (pricing, terms, lead time, payment terms, etc.).

Product Sourcing & Order Coordination: Responsible for coordinating purchase orders between local suppliers and headquarters. Track order status and ensure timely delivery with expected quality. Follow up on samples, quotations, and documentation required by HQ.

Market & Industry Research: Collect and analyze local market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities. Provide regular feedback and proposals for new products or categories based on local insights. Attend trade fairs, exhibitions, or supplier events to explore new opportunities.

Compliance & Documentation: Gather and organize compliance documents required for import/export procedures. Ensure products meet local regulatory requirements. Assist HQ in assessing risks related to compliance, certification, and product testing. Work closely with HQ merchandising, quality, logistics, and finance teams. Provide timely communication and updates to HQ to ensure smooth coordination. Support alignment on sourcing strategies and product development plans.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Marketing, or related fields.

2. Experience in sourcing, merchandising, procurement, or product development in retail, FMCG, consumer goods, trading, or similar industries.

3. 2+ year’s experience in

cosmetic/snack/daily use

category in

retail chain store , with deep knowledge of Philippines local supply chain.

4. Strong understanding of the local supplier landscape and market trends.

5. Ability to work independently, solve problems proactively, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

6. Good command of local language and English (both written and verbal), Chinese is a plus.

7. Experience in exhibitions, trade fairs, or supplier scouting is an advantage.
