A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager to join their plant leadership team in Bandung. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape and nurture an inclusive, high-performing culture while ensuring HR services are delivered with integrity and in line with both local regulations and global standards. As a trusted partner to site management, you will play a vital part in fostering positive employee relations, supporting organisational growth, and driving operational excellence. You will be empowered to influence key business outcomes, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and contribute directly to the success of the organisation. With hybrid working arrangements, ongoing professional development, and the chance to make a meaningful impact from day one, this position is ideal for someone who thrives on connection, continuous improvement, and building strong networks across all levels.
Be a key member of the plant leadership team, collaborating closely with managers and employees to create a supportive and empowering work environment that values integrity and respect.
Enjoy flexible working opportunities with occasional home office days, generous pension contributions, and access to comprehensive training programmes designed to support your professional growth.
Drive impactful HR initiatives that enhance employee engagement, foster positive labour relations, and ensure compliance with both local laws and global policies‑making a real difference every day.
What you’ll do:
As Senior Human Resources Manager you will immerse yourself in daily plant life‑connecting with employees on the production floor, engaging in morning meetings, listening actively to feedback, and acting swiftly on insights gained. Your role will see you partnering closely with site leaders to co‑create strategies that drive business goals while nurturing an environment built on trust and mutual respect. You will oversee the entire employee lifecycle—from hiring through development to separation—ensuring every process aligns with both corporate guidelines and local legislation. By championing operational excellence in all HR topics, you will help embed core values throughout the organisation while supporting continuous growth through benchmarking best practices inside and outside the company. Your ability to communicate effectively across departments will be essential as you coordinate programmes that enhance wellbeing, safety, recognition, and engagement at every level.
Serve as the primary HR Business Partner within the manufacturing site, aligning global HR strategies with local needs to promote right leadership behaviours and values.
Oversee all aspects of employee relations including conflict resolution, case management, workplace investigations, and maintaining healthy relationships with workers councils or trade unions.
Administer payroll support, benefits communication, leave administration, workers compensation claims, digital employee records maintenance, staffing processes, onboarding, performance management administration, and exit interviews.
Coach and guide line managers on people matters by providing expert advice on organisational issues and upskilling management teams through effective solutions.
Collaborate with external vendors such as payroll providers, healthcare insurers, recruiters, and legal counsel to ensure consistent application of HR policies in accordance with best practices.
Lead recruitment planning activities including interview scheduling and evaluation standards while supervising all HR communications and documentation within the team.
Champion employee recognition programmes and drive engagement survey action plans into each team’s DNA for continuous improvement.
Actively participate in interdepartmental meetings with plant leadership teams (PLT) and other pillars of operational excellence systems (BCOS).
Analyse organisational needs for change together with business leaders; co‑develop action plans from a labour relations perspective and guide managers through redeployment processes.
Ensure top‑notch quality of HR data and metrics by assessing reports from HR teams and operations managers to identify trends or areas for improvement.
What you bring:
Your background as Senior Human Resources Manager demonstrates not only technical expertise but also genuine enthusiasm for connecting with people at all levels. You bring hands‑on experience navigating complex employee relations scenarios within manufacturing environments—always striving for win‑win solutions that balance business needs with individual wellbeing. Your interpersonal skills enable you to build trust quickly while guiding others through change processes sensitively. You are comfortable facilitating training sessions on essential topics like communication skills or company policies. Your fluency in English (and local languages) ensures clear dialogue across multicultural teams. You understand how critical it is for HR professionals to be visible on the shop floor—listening attentively to concerns then translating those insights into actionable improvements. Above all else your commitment to continuous learning keeps you ahead of regulatory changes so you can always provide knowledgeable guidance rooted in best practice.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resource Management, Organisational Psychology, Business Administration or related field—or equivalent experience in an international HR department for at least 3 years at managerial or generalist level within a plant setting.
Minimum 5 years overall experience including time spent in multinational companies where you have demonstrated knowledge of local employment laws, regulations, procedures, and standards.
Proficiency in English as well as local languages is required for effective communication across diverse teams.
Experience managing labour relations including direct interaction with unions or works councils; proven ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating employee issues such as conflict resolution while maintaining a supportive approach focused on positive outcomes.
Track record of delivering soft skills or HR‑related training sessions independently based on guidance from global centres of excellence (e.g., Code of Conduct training or onboarding).
Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) environments is considered an asset along with understanding principles of High Performing Organisations.
Ability to work collaboratively within teams yet also independently when required; skilled at influencing stakeholders through empathy rather than authority.
Commitment to ongoing education in labour relations topics coupled with a passion for spending time on‑site engaging directly with employees rather than being desk‑bound.
