Director of Engineering(BFSI)

Role Overview

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on

Director of Engineering

based in Latin America to lead our regional delivery center. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex software solutions for our

BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance)

clients across the region. The ideal candidate is a local leader who bridges the gap between high-level business strategy and technical execution, ensuring that our engineering teams deliver secure, scalable, and compliant financial technologies.

Travel requirements: Need to basis within LATAM countries(E.g. Argentina, Peru, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico etc).

Key Responsibilities Regional Leadership:

Act as the primary technical stakeholder for LATAM, managing cross-functional engineering teams (Dev, QA, DevOps) and fostering a high-performance culture. BFSI Delivery Excellence:

Oversee the delivery of mission-critical platforms, including digital banking, payment gateways, and insurance tech, ensuring they meet the 24/7 availability standards of the financial sector. Stakeholder Management:

Serve as the technical point of contact for C-suite executives at client banks and financial institutions, providing transparency on roadmaps and risks. Compliance & Security:

Ensure all local engineering practices align with regional regulations (such as CNBV in Mexico, BCB in Brazil, etc.) and international standards like PCI-DSS and ISO 27001. Talent Development:

Drive recruitment, mentoring, and retention of top-tier engineering talent within the LATAM time zones. Required Qualifications Language:

Native or bilingual proficiency in

Spanish

and professional fluency in

English . (Portuguese is a significant plus). Experience:

12+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Director or VP level) within a product or services organization. Domain Expertise:

Proven track record in the

BFSI vertical , with a deep understanding of core banking systems, fintech ecosystems, and regional regulatory landscapes. Technical Breadth:

Strong background in modern architecture (Microservices, Cloud-native/AWS/Azure, API-first design) and Agile/DevSecOps methodologies. Local Market Knowledge:

Deep understanding of the LATAM tech talent market and experience managing distributed teams across different countries (e.g., Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile). Core Competencies Strategic Execution:

Ability to translate business goals into technical roadmaps. Operational Rigor:

Experience managing P&L, delivery milestones, and high-stakes SLAs. Cultural Intelligence:

Ability to navigate the nuances of Latin American business culture while aligning with global organizational standards.
