Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Advisory
Act as a trusted legal advisor to senior management and business leaders on strategic initiatives, operational risks, and long-term business planning within the mining sector.
Provide legal input on business expansion, restructuring, and transformation projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory and commercial objectives.
Mining Operations & Regulatory
Oversee all mining-related legal and regulatory matters, including operational permits, mining licenses, land access, concession matters, and compliance with Indonesian mining laws.
Liaise with central and regional government authorities, regulators, and external stakeholders to support ongoing operations and future development.
Transactions & Projects
Manage and support M&A, joint ventures, project financing, and strategic partnerships, including legal due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and execution.
Review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, EPC, logistics, offtake, and other operational agreements relevant to mining activities.
Risk Management & Compliance
Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks, implementing effective compliance frameworks, policies, and internal controls.
Handle disputes, claims, and potential litigation, coordinating with external counsel as required.
People & Stakeholder Management
Lead, mentor, and develop in-house legal teams, fostering high performance and strong business partnership.
Manage relationships with external legal advisors, consultants, and regulators, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and strategic alignment.
The Successful Applicant
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic legal advisory to senior management on mining operations, expansion, and corporate matters.
Oversee regulatory compliance and licensing, including mining permits, operational approvals, and government relations.
Lead and manage corporate governance and corporate secretarial functions (for listed entities), including AGMS, disclosures, and regulatory reporting.
Support M&A, project financing, joint ventures, and strategic transactions, including legal due diligence and negotiations.
Manage, mentor, and develop legal teams, ensuring effective contract management and risk mitigation across operations.
