What we need:

The Data Center Mechanical Engineering Operation is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating within contract parameters within third party Colocation facilities. Often this will include risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metric reporting. This role reports to the Facility Manager and will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Key responsibilities:

Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analysis, and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance. Responsible for the on-site management of sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices and procedures. Manage relationship with third party Colocation providers and their facility staff. Responsible for the operation of and management of both routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc. Data Center capacity planning and reporting. Assist in the design and build out of new facilities. May assist in projects to increase current Facility efficiency. Work with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability and efficiency. Deliver quality service and ensure all customer demands are met. Responsible for asset and inventory management. Travel to datacenter sites for engineering studies, mechanical system audits, supervise testing and commissioning, as required. Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies. Support Data Center Facility Manager to prepare Monthly Report to the Customer. Support Data Center Facility Manager to prepare draft of Monthly Report to the Customer.

The successful candidate:

Educational Background: Must hold minimum of bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or any related fields.

Technical Skills: Perform hands-on operation and maintenance of all Data Center building engineering-related equipment and systems, which include, but are not limited to: Mechanical (HVAC, chillers, pumps, etc.); Electrical (UPS, PDUs, generators, switchgear, etc); Plumbing; Building Automation and Control Systems (BAS, BMS, etc.); Fire/Life Safety (alarms, suppression, etc). Carry out routine Preventive and Corrective Maintenance as directed on all equipment specified. Promptly report all equipment/system anomalies noted. Maintain logs, record readings, document equipment histories, and prepare other engineering-related documentation. Provide access/escort service to subcontractors working in engineering areas as required. Participate in all training programs provided. Actively take part in all emergency drills and respond quickly and appropriately to all emergencies occurring in the facility. Ability to work independently and with other team in a professional manner. Conduct all work in a professional manner and respond courteously to all client requests. Write, or assist in writing, documents related to the operation, maintenance and repairs of equipment and systems. The documentation includes Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), and Emergency Operating Procedure (EOP). Operating Engineers will carry out maintenance/operations tasks as assigned by management and submit accompanying documentation in a timely manner. Performs other duties within their field as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Personal Attributes: Independent and able to work with minimal supervision. Strong time management skills to deliver targets on schedule. Open minded and eager to learning new things. Organizational and communication skills.

Experience: 4+ years of relevant work experience in maintaining electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire systems experience in a data center or critical space facility Understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including but not limited to Chiller, Coil wall/CRAH/CRAC units, CPOS, Fire protection, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDUs.
