Senior Optical Network Engineer – Transmission & DWDM

We are seeking a

Senior Optical Network Engineer

to lead DWDM and transport network operations. You will oversee performance optimization, complex troubleshooting, capacity planning, and technical coordination across teams and vendors.

Job Description

Lead monitoring and performance analysis for DWDM/SDH/FTTX networks.

Conduct advanced troubleshooting and guide junior engineers.

Plan and execute DWDM capacity upgrades and optical path design.

Validate optical link quality using advanced test tools (BERT, OSNR, OTDR, etc.).

Oversee commissioning, migration, and provisioning activities.

Perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and produce improvement plans.

Develop scripts for network task automation (optional but preferred).

Ensure adherence to SOPs, service quality, and SLA fulfillment.

Coordinate with vendors (Huawei, Nokia), internal teams, and project stakeholders.

Create comprehensive technical documentation and periodic reports.

Requirements

5–8+ years experience in

DWDM/SDH/Transport Network Engineering .

Deep knowledge of DWDM concepts (amplifiers, transponders, ROADMs).

Strong experience with NMS (Huawei U2000, Nokia NFM-P).

Hands‑on expertise with optical measurement and validation tools.

Strong analytical, RCA, and troubleshooting capabilities.

Ability to lead activities in the field and mentor junior engineers.

Good collaboration and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and maintain service stability.

Scripting skills (Python, Shell) are a plus.
