Job Purpose
Installs, repairs and troubleshoots surface wellhead systems. These technicians have achieved competence and expertise in the majority of units and have proven their ability to affect a customer’s perception of TechnipFMC in a positive manner. They possess the ability and confidence to run any type of TechnipFMC surface equipment plus MLS with ICP on hand without involving FAT. They are capable of conducting product knowledge and take delegation of authority for Field Operations Coordinator.
Job Description
Works independently to install new products and conducts repairs of TechnipFMC equipment, ensuring no rig lost time for our customers while controlling expenses and maintaining assets.
Provides project start‑up expertise, including oversight during first installations.
Performs pre‑job briefing to customer representative onboard for job description and tools readiness, JSA/Risk assessment, fit function etc.
Assures all equipment, service tooling and spare parts are on location and ready to use and fit function prior to performing the job.
Records critical dimensions to ensure proper assembly and obtains/reviews or creates product running procedures.
Provides “Project Support” as required for all new projects, attending design review, reviewing installation procedures, assisting with project Factory Acceptance Tests, and reviewing training requirements for service personnel.
Maintains communication with Company Representative on job procedures, spare parts requirements, function fit, and critical dimension measurements.
Performs and executes job in accordance with related ICP and ensures no NC occur; interfaces and keeps customer fully informed of all aspects of the job, handling complaints in a professional manner.
Performs post‑job briefing to customer representative and notes customer inputs.
Completes Field Non‑Conformance Reports (FNCR) as product problems are encountered.
Assures all equipment and procedural defects are communicated back to TechnipFMC Service Management.
Prepares and submits Field Service Orders and other regional reports after each job is complete, maintaining a log book or other form to communicate procedures, spare parts, critical dimensions, and customer questions and complaints.
Understands and follows all TechnipFMC and customer safety requirements, proactively pursuing safe work practices and participating in safety meetings and training.
Mentors FST ≤ 2 below.
Acts as lead technician and assists with training of less experienced technicians.
Field Service Technician 1‑SF.
Capability to take delegation of authority for Field Operations Coordinator.
You Are Meant For This Job If
Strong mechanical aptitude.
At least five years of mechanical, electronic and hydraulic experience in an oilfield equipment environment.
Demonstrated hands‑on experience in wellhead and Xmas tree installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Polytechnic diploma or undergraduate engineering diploma with oilfield experience.
Two years of college education preferred; minimum good English written and spoken.
Proven experience working in both offshore and onshore field operations.
Passes full medical check‑up, physically fit and willing to travel by land, air and water to onshore, offshore and remote areas.
Computer literate and familiar with technical reporting systems.
Customer service skills – strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
Flexibility to work rotational schedules and extended hours when required; organized and systematic with troubleshooting and problem assessment skills; systems oriented and highly motivated with a positive attitude.
