Job Title
Shipping Cargo Operations (LCT 3000 DWT Fleet)
Overview
Oversee all vessel-related matters at Indonesian ports, including processing port entry/exit formalities, arranging pilotage and berthing/unberthing, ensuring efficient and compliant operations, crew changes procedures, PSCO, bunkering etc.
Responsibilities
Client Communication & Relationship Maintenance
Act as the primary contact for shipowners, charterers, or operators worldwide, providing timely updates on vessel status and operational results to foster long-term partnerships, communication with shipper, consignee, and stevedores included.
Document Processing
Prepare, review, and process various shipping documents such as bills of lading, cargo manifests, customs declarations, and PKKA arrangements ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
Operational Issue Management
Demonstrate ability to handle unexpected situations during operations, such as port congestion, procedural delays, or cargo disputes, and assist in negotiations to protect client interests.
Cost Management & Reporting
Track and manage port disbursements, assist in cost verification and settlement, and regularly report operational progress and cost control to management.
Qualifications
Language Skills
Excellent English proficiency (written and spoken). Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping or logistics; background in ship agency or marine operations is preferred. Familiarity with major Indonesian ports (Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Sumatera area such as Padang, Dumai, Palembang, Kalimantan area such as Taboneo, Kendawangan, Balikpapan) will be highly regarded.
Professional Knowledge
Familiarity with international shipping practices, port operation procedures, and customs/maritime regulations; understanding of trade terms such as FOB and CIF.
Personal Attributes
Strong communication and coordination skills, resilience under pressure, and problem‑solving ability; meticulous attention to detail, strong customer service orientation, and a sense of responsibility.
