Senior Non-Key Expert – P2X Technology Specialist
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or related discipline
Fluency in written and spoken English
Strong presentation and facilitation skills for technical and policy audiences
Experience in international workshop design and delivery
Excellent drafting skills in British/Irish English
Professional Experience
General Professional Experience
Minimum seven (7) years of experience in clean energy technology development, with significant focus on hydrogen and P2X technologies
Experience in international technology cooperation and knowledge transfer programmes
Familiarity with ASEAN energy markets and policy contexts is an asset
Specific Professional Experience
Strong technical expertise in hydrogen production, electrolysis systems, and P2X pathways (ammonia, methanol, synthetic fuels)
Experience in P2X project development, technology assessment, and deployment strategies
Knowledge of industrial applications in chemical, shipping, and aviation sectors
Experience contributing to technology transfer mechanisms and international cooperation frameworks
Position length
36 working days (30 home-based; 6 mission days in ASEAN Member State – tbc) Assignment period: April 2026 – July 2026
Under Work Package 8B (Contribution to the EU–ASEAN Energy Dialogue), Activity 8.5, this assignment supports the preparation and delivery of the Technical Workshop: "Power-to-X Applications – Pathways for ASEAN's Clean Energy Value Chains." The workshop strengthens EU–ASEAN policy dialogue and knowledge exchange on Power-to-X (P2X) technologies, including renewable hydrogen and derivative fuels, as enablers of clean energy value chain development, industrial decarbonisation, and Global Gateway–aligned investment opportunities.
SNKE - P2X Technology Specialist will lead
Session 1: P2X Technology Fundamentals and Applications
Session 3: Regional Supply Chain Development and Industrial Integration
Session 5: EU–ASEAN Cooperation in P2X Technology Transfer
The expert will focus on technical aspects of hydrogen production, P2X pathways (ammonia, methanol, synthetic fuels), system integration, and technology transfer mechanisms. The role includes development of analytical materials, case studies, and structured technical discussions.
The assignment is technical and policy-oriented and does not involve direct project implementation.
