– a Fortune Global 300 enterprise headquartered in China, with a dominant presence in the global supply chain and a strategic focus on expanding its international footprint. As part of its aggressive growth plan in Southeast Asia, the company is scaling operations in Indonesia (a core market for its long‑term development) and seeking a seasoned Investment & BD Leader to drive project development, strategic partnerships, and joint venture (JV) oversight in the region.

Role Purpose This is a regional leadership role reporting directly to the Head of Overseas Investment at the China headquarters. You will serve as the regional focal point for investment and business development, with Indonesia as your base and responsibility to expand projects across neighboring Southeast Asian countries. Key priorities include leading end‑to‑end deal origination, negotiating high‑stakes commercial agreements, and acting as the Chinese headquarters’ representative to oversee local JVs – playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s regional growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute regional investment & BD strategies aligned with global headquarters’ objectives, focusing on Indonesia and neighboring Southeast Asian markets

Lead deal origination, due diligence, feasibility studies, and negotiation of strategic investments, project developments, and commercial partnerships in the new energy/manufacturing sector

Act as the primary Chinese representative to oversee local joint ventures (JVs), including governance, performance monitoring, risk mitigation, and alignment with the company’s global standards

Drive cross‑functional collaboration with global teams (finance, legal, operations, technical) to ensure seamless execution of investment projects and JV operations

Build and maintain key relationships with local governments, regulatory authorities, industry partners, and stakeholders to support business expansion and compliance

Lead high‑level commercial negotiations, contract finalization, and post‑deal integration for investments and partnerships

Provide regular updates to China headquarters (dual‑reporting model) on regional investment progress, market dynamics, JV performance, and risk profiles

Identify emerging market opportunities, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision‑making at the global level

Requirements

8+ years of progressive experience in

investment, business development (BD), and commercial negotiation

– with a proven track record of closing high‑value deals in Southeast Asia (Indonesia focus essential)

Solid experience working with

joint ventures (JVs)

– including governance, oversight, and cross‑cultural stakeholder management

Familiarity with

dual‑reporting work models

(reporting to regional teams and global/China headquarters)

Native proficiency in

Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia)

and fluent English (written & spoken) – mandatory for local stakeholder engagement and global collaboration

Deep understanding of Indonesia’s investment landscape, regulatory framework, business culture, and Southeast Asian market dynamics (new energy/manufacturing sector experience highly preferred)

Strong leadership, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills – able to work independently and drive results in a fast‑paced, cross‑cultural environment

Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus

Demonstrated ability to balance commercial objectives with risk management and compliance requirements
