Job Description

Responsibilities

Teach Japanese language from foundational Hiragana and Katakana reading and writing to advanced Kanji, grammar, and vocabulary.

Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in alignment with Sekolah Bahasa’s curriculum and teaching standards.

Build communicative skills through structured speaking, listening, reading, and writing lessons.

Create interactive learning experiences such as conversation drills, listening practice with Japanese media, situational role plays, and cultural discussions.

Adapt teaching methods to suit different student levels, ages, and learning styles.

Teach grammar progressively, from basic sentence structures and particles to complex patterns and keigo (honorific language).

Provide systematic vocabulary instruction covering daily conversation, academic, professional, and JLPT-related topics.

Design practice sessions for JLPT preparation, including past papers, timed exercises, reading comprehension, and listening tests.

Organize quizzes, projects, and assessments to track learner progress.

Provide personalized feedback and additional support for students who need extra guidance.

Monitor class discipline, attendance, and learning atmosphere to maintain a productive environment.

Provide clear, constructive feedback on student assignments and participation.

Contribute to curriculum improvement by sharing insights, materials, and innovative teaching ideas.

Communicate regularly with students and/or parents regarding progress and development plans.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Language, Japanese Literature, Education, or related fields.

Proven teaching experience (minimum 1 year) in Japanese instruction, preferably in a formal school or course setting.

Strong proficiency in Japanese with excellent grammar, pronunciation, and communication skills.

JLPT certification (minimum N2 preferred; N1 is a plus).

Familiarity with communicative and interactive teaching methodologies.

Ability to manage classroom dynamics and maintain student engagement.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Creativity in developing learning materials and activities.

Punctual, disciplined, and able to manage time effectively.
