We are currently looking for a Space Innovation Platform Engineer to work at ESA HQ in Paris, France. About the client and location The European Space Agency’s (ESA) headquarters are based in Paris, France. It is from here that all major political and administrative decisions are made regarding ESA’s programmes, budgets, and future plans. Tasks and activities The scope of work will include: Preparing new OSIP Campaigns and Channels with ESA experts to identify innovative ideas across the agency. Participating in final presentations for Discovery and Preparation activities. Providing system engineering expertise in the planning and execution of activities. Supporting the Office’s goal to inform stakeholders about ongoing and past activities via web stories and documentation, utilizing automated, scripted, and ad hoc information input methods. Developing new web tools to enhance dissemination and communication. Creating training and guidance materials for tools used by the Office (e.g., OSIP, NEBULA). Proactively developing and improving automation solutions, especially for report generation tasks. Supporting office reporting to stakeholders through automation and scripting, integrating information from various sources and databases. Skills and experience The following skills and experience are mandatory: A Master’s degree in space science or engineering disciplines with at least 4 years of relevant experience. A strong academic background in space systems engineering, with knowledge of automation (e.g., Python programming) and an interest in innovation processes. Basic knowledge of web application development and administration. Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages. Interest or basic knowledge of innovation platforms and open innovation. Willingness to learn new skills and adapt in a dynamic environment. Natural curiosity and passion for new subjects. Ability to work autonomously and in a team within an international, multicultural setting. Solution-oriented mindset with customer-focused communication skills.
