Plant head ( Steel Manufacturing )

Role & responsibilities

Plan, direct, and coordinate daily operations across Furnace, CCM, and Rolling Mill sections.

Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum utilization of men, machine, and materials.

Ensure strict adherence to production schedules and dispatch deadlines.

Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.

Maintain high quality standards as per customer specifications.

Work closely with the QA/QC team to monitor and improve metallurgical and mechanical properties.

Ensure statutory compliance with environmental, pollution, safety, and labor regulations.

Lead a multidisciplinary team of production, maintenance, and support functions.

Ensure skill development and training programs for workforce at all levels.

Optimize scrap utilization, fuel consumption, billet yield, and rolling efficiencies.

Maintain inventory control of raw materials, spares, and consumables in coordination with stores and purchase departments.

Contribute to business strategy, capacity expansion, plant modernization, and new project implementations.

Collaborate with finance, marketing, and top management for budgeting and forecasting.

Preferred candidate profile Candidate with minimum 20 years of work experience into steel manufacturing plant with at least 5 years of experience into leadership role will be the right fit for the role
