Job Title: Product Owner

Location: Remote. Colorado-based candidates preferred; occasional in-person meetings may occur for those located in‑state.

Job Type: Full Time

Compensation: $105,000 – $120,000 (dependent on experience)

Summary The Product Owner partners closely with a software development team to guide and support the end‑to‑end software development lifecycle. This role plays a critical part in establishing strong delivery standards by ensuring alignment with Agile methodologies and enabling the team to deliver high‑quality, secure, and scalable software solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep Agile expertise, strong collaboration skills, and a disciplined, detail‑oriented approach to defining requirements, prioritizing work, and facilitating clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

Partner with the Development Team Lead and engineering team to support efficient workflows and maintain alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Apply deep knowledge of Agile methodologies to facilitate daily stand‑ups, backlog management, refinement sessions, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies. Champion Agile best practices with a strong focus on delivering business value.

Support the creation of unit tests using modern tooling, including AI‑assisted approaches, and take ownership of testing activities related to assigned workstreams. Broader testing oversight remains with technical leadership.

Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and security partners to define and maintain a product roadmap aligned with organizational goals. Gather requirements, communicate progress, and proactively address risks or concerns.

Own release planning activities, coordinating dependencies, resolving conflicts, and ensuring timely, high‑quality releases.

Incorporate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle by working in partnership with security and compliance stakeholders.

Develop clear, well‑defined user stories and test cases aligned with test‑driven development (TDD) principles to support consistent, high‑quality delivery.

Leverage strong problem‑solving skills to address technical challenges, mitigate risks, and resolve issues that could impact timelines or deliverables.

Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organizational objectives.

Travel Requirements

Minimal travel required.

External partners, vendors, or consultants as needed

Physical Requirements

Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time, seated or standing.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

Experience: Proven success supporting or leading Agile software development initiatives and delivering high‑quality software solutions on schedule.

Agile Expertise: Extensive hands‑on experience with Agile frameworks, backlog management, sprint planning, and estimation techniques (e.g., Agile poker).

Problem Solving: Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills with a structured, detail‑oriented approach to resolving complex challenges.

Security & Testing: Solid understanding of application security best practices and experience integrating security and testing into the development lifecycle.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences. Experience using Jira or comparable project management tools is required.
