Staff Database Reliability Engineer (x/f/m)

What you’ll do We are looking for a Database Reliability Engineer to join our Database Optimization team and play a critical role in preserving the performance of our databases. The team is responsible for improving and protecting the health of our datastores and empowering the whole tech teams to use our datastores in the most efficient way. You will collaborate everyday with Database Architects, Principal Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to : Empower feature teams on database best practices. Help break down our main PostgreSQL database (30TB) into smaller, more scalable databases. Keep an eye on query performance and data modeling, and offer recommendations to feature teams on how to optimize it. Set up monitoring and alerting to catch performance issues. Perform maintenance tasks on our managed databases to enhance stability and improve performance. Upskill the developers of your team. Have 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Engineer with a focus on reliability and scalability Have strong problem-solving skills, especially in identifying and rectifying database performance bottleneck Have excellent communication skills, enabling efficient transmission of knowledge.
