About the Role We are looking for a

Staff Engineer

to shape and sustain a resilient, secure, and scalable platform that powers our entire engineering organization. This senior individual‑contributor role drives architecture, standards, mentorship, and product‑oriented technical leadership.

The Team You will collaborate across product and platform teams, working with Engineering, Product, AI, and Security stakeholders from different squads.

Your Mission at Jus Mundi

Drive architectural decisions and technical strategy across multiple teams with a focus on product outcomes.

Design fault‑tolerant, scalable distributed systems; apply patterns such as API versioning, asynchronous messaging, caching, database sharding.

Partner closely with Product and Engineering leaders to balance trade‑offs with business value and delivery timelines.

Define and enforce standards for reliability, security, testing, and deployment.

Lead transition toward fully automated, self‑healing, immutable infrastructure.

Act as a technical driver for platform‑wide initiatives improving reliability, performance, developer productivity, and user experience.

Mentor engineers and serve as a trusted technical advisor across the organization.

Preferred Experience and Skills Required Qualifications and Experience

10+ years in software engineering and cloud infrastructure management, including at least 3 years in senior or staff‑level technical leadership.

Proven experience designing, scaling, and operating fault‑tolerant distributed systems.

Strong product mindset; understand business context, user needs, and impact of technical decisions.

Ability to communicate clear technical trade‑offs in service of business value and platform health.

Expert‑level proficiency with our technology stack and modern backend architectures.

Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code – Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible – managing environments strictly through code.

Track record of leading complex technical projects without direct managerial authority.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; explain complex concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Delivered high‑impact projects on time and to a high standard.

Fluent English required.

Key Technical Focus Areas

Developer experience and platform enablement – CI/CD pipelines, standardized APIs, observability, documentation.

Security by design – architectural approaches to mitigate DDoS and scraping risks.

Operational excellence – automated remediation, elimination of manual production interventions, technical debt reduction.

Code quality, testing strategies, deployment best practices, system observability.

Bonus Skills

Experience in SaaS or AI‑powered platforms.

Background in security engineering or large‑scale platform engineering.

Prior experience in legal tech or highly regulated environments.

Interview Process

Introductory call with Laurine, Talent Manager (30 min).

Management interview with Thomas, CTO, and Yohan, Head of Infrastructure (1 h).

Use‑case & tech Q/A with Matthieu, John, Tech Leads, and Yohan (1 h 30).

Team‑fit meeting with DevOps and software engineers (45 min).

Final call with Jean‑Rémi, CEO, or Anna, VP of People (30 min).

Final steps include reference calls and a background check.
