About the Department
With decades of experience in the index space, Euronext is one of the leading index providers in Europe. The company has over 1200 indices of all sizes and profiles that are designed, calculated and published in house. This includes over 45 ESG indices and 8 major blue‑chip indices in Europe namely our national flagship indices: AEX, BEL 20, CAC 40, CAC 40 ESG, ISEQ 20, OBX and PSI 20 MIB ESG. More than 15,000 ETFs, funds, warrants, certificates, futures and options are associated with the Euronext indices and over €100 billion of assets are benchmarked.
The Euronext Indices team is the strategic business unit responsible for the development, management and licensing of all Euronext indices and for the partnerships with data vendors. Besides our ESG and national blue‑chip indices, our product offering also consists of indices tailored to meet the demands of the world’s largest issuers of financial products and investors looking for specific or enhanced market exposure at lower costs.
Position Overview
Euronext Indices is seeking an experienced Senior Index Product Manager to lead the product management function within our Index business, reporting directly to the Head of Indices. The team is central to ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, governance and client servicing for our Index Business. The successful candidate will oversee a team of two Index Product Analysts and will drive initiatives that strengthen governance, improve operational efficiency and deliver client‑focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee operational and risk management aspects of the Index business, ensuring a robust control framework.
Work closely with Index Operations / Implementations to ensure rulebooks are correctly implemented, maintained and enhanced and that index incidents are managed appropriately.
Act as advisor to index committees, ensuring all quarterly reviews are carried out to market standards.
Ensure client requests and escalations are handled promptly with high levels of service and professionalism.
Drive cross‑functional initiatives in collaboration with Index Sales, Index Structuring, IT, Index Operations and Compliance & Legal.
Ensure full compliance with relevant regulations (EU BMR, IOSCO standards).
Serve as representative on internal and external committees, including the Independent Supervisor and Oversight Committee.
Act as primary escalation point for complex corporate actions and operational queries.
Maintain and enhance an efficient governance framework to support sustainable business growth.
Index Operations and Product Strategy
Lead consultations and methodology enhancements (e.g., corporate actions, free‑float definitions).
Identify and deliver efficiencies in index implementation operations and design.
Work closely with index operations to ensure methodology adherence, index implementation and smooth day‑to‑day functioning.
Partner with engineering and index operations to automate workflows and strengthen operational infrastructure.
Ensure new product rollouts are supported by robust documentation and administration.
Collaborate with product development to produce accurate and comprehensive methodology documentation for new index launches.
Anticipate future operational capability needs and plan accordingly.
Establish best‑in‑class processes for risk management governance and oversight across the index product lifecycle.
Candidate Profile
Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in index product management, ETFs operations or related financial services leadership roles.
Understanding of regulatory frameworks governing indices (EU BMR, IOSCO).
Demonstrated ability to lead governance processes and interact with regulators.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to drive cross‑functional initiatives.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with fluency in English (additional languages a plus).
