Job Description OPPORTUNITIES: PRINCIPIA is currently searching for a talented Head of Department (Engineering Subsea, Riser or Cable) to support the Offshore Business Unit (La Ciotat, Nantes, Lorient) for Marine Renewable and Oil & Gas activities. The Engineer will have an opportunity to work on particularly complex design challenges using PRINCIPIA’s internal suite of analysis tools to develop solutions that meet the needs of our range of national and international clients. This is a permanent contract position. PRINCIPIA is currently providing the engineering services to deliver some of the latest, challenging offshore projects in Europe and around the globe, for the Oil & Gas and Marine Renewable industries. This is a great opportunity to assume a leadership role on major execution projects and R&D work.

Responsibilities

Manage a team of 10-15 engineers (day to day management, appraisals)

Supervise and co-ordinate engineers and draughts men

Project Management: delivery, cost, operational schedule, reporting

Participate to the business development (preparation of technical and commercial offers)

Manage the Workload & Planning of the resources for all the subsea projects

Participate to the recruitment (external or staff)

Follow up the state of the art of the subsea activities (Riser, cable)

Ensure Interface with the Client

Technical support to the projects

Participate to Events

Design and FEED studies

Detailed engineering packages

Independent design verification analysis

Interface with equipment

Expertise in hydrodynamic analysis, structural analysis, detailed fabrication, drawings

Expertise and analysis for all design life steps, including in-place, fatigue, temporary cases, accidental cases…

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Naval architecture, Ocean, Mechanical or Marine). Min 10 years’ experience. Knowledge in use of relevant codes and software:

Offshore rules: API, AISC, DNV, ABS, BV, ASME…

Engineering software (at least one): DIODORETM, DEEPLINESTM, ORCAFLEX
