About the team
Mambu Payments enables fintechs, payment service providers, and banks to launch new products, expand geographically, comply with payment regulations, and scale their operations with our cloud‑native API‑first payments platform. We develop and run direct integrations with a network of 30 partner banks (including BNP Paribas, Barclays, Citi, HSBC, Banking Circle, LHV) that can all be accessed through a single API, webhooks, and dashboard.
What you’ll do
Design and develop bank connectivity and payment automation products with a strong focus on security, stability, and performance.
Remain hands‑on and actively contribute to the codebase while guiding your team through technical decisions and best practices.
Build and mentor a small team of backend engineers, fostering collaboration, autonomy and technical excellence.
Partner with Product Managers and DevOps Engineers to define the squad’s roadmap and deliver high‑quality, reliable features at pace.
Contribute to and execute Mambu’s technical roadmap, ensuring alignment between squad initiatives and company‑wide goals.
Apply security‑by‑design principles across public and internal APIs.
Solve complex architectural challenges to ensure scalability and maintainability while creating tangible value for customers.
Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, continuous integration, and process improvements.
What you’ll bring
Experience with Go or a similar statically‑typed, compiled language.
Experience with relational databases, SQL, and familiarity with high‑concurrent environments, transaction management, and isolation.
Ability to produce high‑quality, maintainable, and documented code that respects best practices at large scale.
Solid API design skills with a focus on security and documentation.
Curiosity, business understanding, and a product‑oriented mindset.
Proven leadership and team‑management experience, including mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and fostering collaboration and accountability within a small squad.
Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable plans and align with product and business goals.
Autonomous and proactive mindset, driving initiatives and taking ownership of outcomes.
