Overview of INSERM
INSERM is the only French public organisation entirely dedicated to biological, medical and population health research. It has research laboratories throughout France, grouped into 12 Regional Delegations. Our institute brings together 15,000 researchers, engineers, technicians and administrative staff with a common goal: to improve everyone's health through advances in knowledge about living organisms and diseases, innovation in treatments and public health research.
Joining INSERM means joining an institute committed to gender parity and professional equality, diversity and support for its employees with disabilities, from recruitment and throughout their careers. In order to promote well‑being at work, INSERM pursues an active policy on working conditions, based in particular on a fair balance between personal and professional life.
In 2016, INSERM was awarded the European HR Excellence in Research label and is committed to developing its recruitment and evaluation practices for researchers.
Paris Cardiovascular Research Centre (PARCC)
PARCC conducts cutting‑edge research encompassing clinical, translational and fundamental sciences in the cardiovascular field. Its strategic research areas are structured around three priorities: Gene and molecular signalling; Immunity and metabolism; Predictive models and multidimensional approaches.
For each strategic area, PARCC develops a continuum between fundamental research, innovative development, translational research and patient benefit. These strategic priorities are developed in four main pathological contexts, targeting multi‑organ diseases: macro‑ and microvascular pathologies associated with metabolic diseases, heart failure and sudden cardiac death, endocrine and resistant hypertension, renal hypertension pathologies and transplantation.
