Join us as an MTN & CP Syndicate Associate or Vice President, Paris
In this customer-focused role, based in Paris, you’ll originate, price, trade, and distribute primary fixed-income products such as commercial paper (CP) and medium-term notes (MTN) to institutional investors.
This is an opportunity to work closely with stakeholders on the flow syndicate desk, as well as with issuers and investors, which will help drive our business forward.
You’ll gain valuable exposure and expand your network with the support of our Debt Capital Markets (DCM) and Syndicate team, a strong sales force, and access to leading strategists and economists.
What you’ll do
As an MTN & CP Syndicate Associate or Vice President, you’ll lead the execution of transactions, ensure that all business processes comply with established policies, and manage risk by effectively hedging residual bond and CP positions.
Moreover, you’ll work closely with the DCM team to develop ideas and recommendations for issuers, while strengthening relationships with both issuers and investors.
We’ll also expect you to consistently improve and automate marketing processes for desk axes to boost efficiency and outreach to sales teams, while performing market trend analysis to generate well-informed trade ideas.
In addition, you’ll need to:
Develop a solid understanding of new issuance pricing for CP and debt instruments across various issuer types while making sure that transactions comply with all procedures and standards.
Collaborate with origination and sales teams to facilitate funding solutions for clients and issuers, provide pricing and structural guidance, and build strong relationships across product teams.
Proactively implement measures to align activities with NatWest markets’ policies on conduct, operational standards, credit, and regulatory risks.
Ensure accountability for delivering commitments to customers to demonstrate excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
Support origination efforts by offering market intelligence and deal‑specific insights.
The skills you’ll need
We’re looking for someone with a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in STEM, finance, economics, or a related field and possesses a solid understanding of derivatives and fixed‑income instruments. Proficiency in Excel is a must, while experience with coding languages such as Python is considered an advantage.
To succeed in this role, prior work experience within financial institutions particularly in areas such as MTNs, Syndicate, DCM, fixed income, or derivatives trading would be highly advantageous. Additionally, Western European language skills is a plus, though not a requirement.
You must also have:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex concepts clearly.
