LOCATION Vernon, British Columbia, Canada.

OVERVIEW Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) is a 196‑bed facility and a beacon of healthcare excellence in Vernon, British Columbia. Serving as the primary hospital in the North Okanagan region, VJH provides comprehensive acute care along with advanced medical services and technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide general adult medical care and oversee the management of surgical and psychiatric cases.

Collaborate closely with specialized departments including Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Radiology, Urology, and Oncology.

Coordinate tertiary referrals to Kelowna when advanced treatment is required.

Engage in electronic physician documentation, ensuring clear plans, smooth handovers and efficient rounding.

Mentor and provide immersive clinical teaching to undergraduate and residency students from UBC‑Okanagan.

Participate in Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) projects to advance clinical practice.

Communicate effectively with discharge planning experts, community resources, and family physicians.

QUALIFICATIONS • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent. • Experience and ability to manage complex adult medical cases. • Strong clinical and communication skills. • Familiarity with multidisciplinary teamwork and electronic medical records. • Commitment to continuous learning and quality improvement.

COMPENSATION Clinical Service Contract – estimated remuneration for a full‑time hospitalist: $336,162.00 per year, plus MOCAP level 2. Physician overhead is not included.

BENEFITS AND INCENTIVES

Vacation leave – flexible scheduling to recharge and unwind.

Relocation funding: $9,000 for moves within British Columbia, $12,000 for moves within Canada, and $15,000 for moves from outside Canada (maximum amounts).

Other benefits and incentives may be offered; specific rates will be confirmed at the time of the offer.

TERMS Full‑time hospitalist with the option for part‑time hours to support work‑life balance.
