What you will do:
Manage a team of 5 compliance experts in France and oversee Continental Europe Compliance teams for Global Markets activities
Support governance and reporting activities related to Global Markets compliance, active participation in committees and participation to the HBCE France Global Markets Exco
Proactive engagement with HBCE Compliance management and the Group Global Markets Compliance teams in the UK
Act as a compliance specialist, providing guidance, instructions, direction, support, and critical analysis to optimize the management of Regulatory Compliance risks for HBCE Global Markets
Advise business stakeholders objectively and independently, offering credible, proactive observations and recommendations on specific Global Markets transactions and new products, leveraging your understanding of Global Markets activities, needs, challenges, and business priorities. This covers all topics overseen by Compliance, including conduct risks, conflicts of interest, market abuse, outsourcing, etc.
Deliver professional, specialized, independent, and relevant advice and analysis to business stakeholders regarding current, emerging, and future risks, as well as risk management and control activities—including compliance risk assessments, control monitoring, and associated risk management activities
Serve as the primary point of contact within the HBCE Compliance Global Markets team for regulatory matters: support regulatory commitments and developments in the Global Markets business, and ensure adherence with existing and new regulations
Engage with France and European regulators on Global Markets topics, ensure consistent engagements in Continental Europe
Develop and implement Compliance policies, support the business in their rollout, actively monitor compliance, and rigorously follow up on any non-compliance issues as needed
Regularly organize training and awareness sessions on compliance topics for teams in France and continental Europe
Foster and further develop a culture of compliance and business conduct where the Compliance function is genuinely valued and sought out to provide thoughtful and constructive challenges to leaders in their own domain

Demonstrable experience leading Compliance within Markets and Securities Services, providing subject matter expertise.
People Leadership with responsibility for developing high performing compliance teams, overseeing regulatory engagement and advising senior stakeholders across broader Global Markets.
Expertise in Global Markets and financial products
Working Knowledge of French and European legal and regulatory requirements, especially regarding Markets activities
Ability to work autonomously
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills ideally both French and English
