By-product Research Engineer
ArcelorMittal, world’s largest steel producer, invites a By-product Research Engineer to lead R&D projects focused on by‑product recycling and environmental emission minimization.
Responsibilities
Design and develop innovative solutions for the valorization of dust, sludge, and scales generated by steel production.
Assess existing technologies and develop new processes, including laboratory work, industrial tests, and process simulations.
Build and operate laboratory and pilot equipment, conduct tests, analyze results, and validate mass balances and CO₂ emissions.
Contribute to the R&D strategy and collaborate with portfolio, sales teams, and the CTO.
Participate in transversal activities related to safety, environment, and quality management.
Qualifications
Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Hydrometallurgy, Electrochemistry, Pyrometallurgy, or by‑product treatment.
Experience in applied R&D within an industrial context.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques, pilot plant operations, and simulation tools.
Fluency in French and English.
Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment and work collaboratively across functions.
Innovative mindset, results‑oriented, and strong networking skills.
