Solution Architect – SOA (EU Agency – Strasbourg)

We are looking for a Senior

Solution Architect

with strong expertise in

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)

to support the design and evolution of large-scale enterprise systems within a major

European Agency .

You will play a key role in shaping the integration and middleware architecture, ensuring robust orchestration of web services and alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

Your Responsibilities

Design and evolve the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) tier

Lead and contribute to architecture and design workshops

Define and orchestrate business processes for web services integration

Review design artefacts and code, proposing improvements and alternative solutions

Contribute to new system developments, enhancements, and third-party integrations

Collaborate with technical and functional stakeholders to ensure delivery quality

Apply established development methodologies and configuration/release standards

Ensure architecture compliance regarding security, logging, auditing, monitoring, and performance KPIs

Experience & Education Requirements

Minimum 9 years of professional IT experience

At least 3 years focused on SOA Platform Architecture & Development

Master’s degree (or minimum 4 years of post-secondary education in IT or related field)

Hands-on experience with

BPEL / Business Process Orchestration

J2EE, Web Services (SOAP, WSDL)

XML/XSL, SQL, JDBC, UML

Middleware technologies, Network and system architecture principles

Linux, UNIX, or AIX enterprise environments

Nice to have

Certified Architect (TOGAF / The Open Group or equivalent)

Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks
