Overview Job Summary

Primary location for the role to be based from Paris. We will also consider Frankfurt. As part of the Infrastructure & Development Finance Group’s European expansion strategy, this Executive Director role has been created to strengthen our local EU presence, enhance sector expertise, and ensure alignment with evolving EU regulatory requirements. Based in Paris, the Executive Director will play a pivotal leadership role in driving origination and execution of Project Finance transactions across France and Continental Europe. Reporting to the IDFG Europe Head, the role will focus on deepening client relationships, expanding market penetration, and delivering sustainable growth in line with Global Banking’s EU strategy. This is a high-impact opportunity for a senior French-speaking banker with extensive EU Project Finance experience, strong knowledge of French corporates and institutional investors, and a sound understanding of EU banking regulations applicable to SCB Paris and SCB AG. The Executive Director will lead strategic deal origination and execution for French clients and prospects, while contributing to broader EU market development. The role combines commercial leadership, regulatory expertise, transaction execution, risk governance, and team development. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to sponsors, promoters, institutional investors, and banking partners, while ensuring that transactions are delivered to the highest standards of governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a trusted advisor to clients on strategic corporate and infrastructure initiatives

Support the IDFG Europe Head in formulating and executing the regional business strategy

Strengthen relationships with sponsors, promoters, institutional investors, and commercial banks

Develop local origination and execution capabilities across major EU markets

Provide market insights and thought leadership to clients and internal stakeholders

Enhance IDFG’s visibility and credibility within the French and broader EU Project Finance ecosystem

Originate and structure new Project Finance transactions across key sectors

Independently lead deal teams through mandate, structuring, approval, and execution phases

Deliver new mandates to achieve IDFG Europe annual revenue and balance sheet targets

Contribute actively to revenue forecasting and budget planning

Ensure compliance with EU regulatory requirements and local supervisory expectations

Maintain a strong understanding of EU banking regulations applicable to SCB Paris and SCB AG

Essential Skills & Experience

Senior-level banking experience within an EU-regulated bank

Extensive experience in Project Finance origination and execution across Europe

Strong knowledge of French corporates, sponsors, and institutional investors

Deep understanding of EU regulatory frameworks impacting banking activities

Proven track record of delivering revenue growth and closing complex transactions

Strong credit and risk assessment capabilities

Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams

Fluent in French and English

Desirable

Established network across infrastructure, energy, transport, and development sectors

Experience working across multiple EU jurisdictions

Strong negotiation, structuring, and stakeholder management skills

Strategic mindset combined with strong execution discipline
