What We're Looking For

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join our dynamic, fast-growing team at Vekta. If you’re passionate about endurance sports and excited by the potential of AI to transform athletic performance, we’d love to hear from you! You will be responsible for several key tasks related to data ingestion, transformation, and cloud infrastructure management. Your role will be divided into three primary areas: Role & Responsibilities

Lambda Function Design : Develop AWS Lambda functions in TypeScript or Python to ingest and transform data from various providers. Perform data transformations using libraries like Polars . Handle and process complex, large-scale data streams efficiently. Workflow Management : Create and manage serverless workflows to orchestrate Lambda functions, ensure efficient error and exception handling using tools like : Data Infrastructure Design & Optimization : Collaborate on the design, modeling, and continuous improvement of our data infrastructure. Everything will be deployed on AWS using SST , an infrastructure as tool package, which uses Pulumi internally. Qualifications

Education : A degree in Computer Science , Software Engineering , Data Science , or a related field. Experience : Proven experience in developing and deploying serverless architectures specifically with AWS (Lambda, SQS, Step Functions, EventBridge, etc.). Experience in the sports or tech industry is a plus. Skills : Strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python for cloud-based applications. Experience with data manipulation tools like Polars or Numpy . Hands-on experience with AI models and their integration via ONNX or inference APIs. In-depth knowledge of relational database modeling ( PostgreSQL ) and cloud-based architectures ( S3 ). Ability to design scalable, robust infrastructures. Profile : Proactive and collaborative mindset that thrives in a dynamic startup environment. Strong communication skills in both English and French . Excellent interpersonal skills. Passionate about endurance sports and eager to make an impact in the industry. Comfortable working in remote or hybrid environments. Competitive salary based on experience, plus equity.
